Mechanics

Knowing how stuff works is one of my missions in life. I usually learn by determined analysis, dissection, study, and mistakes—but I almost always figure it out.

Mechanical objects are especially enticing. Everything to know is right there before me. The logic is embodied in the design, just waiting to be discovered. Thus it shouldn't surprise you that I have an old motorcycle that I tinker with.

I own a 1974 Honda CB 360 street bike. This is not a sport bike, an off-road, or a cruiser. This is a run-about, medium-to-small motorcycle that is older than I am. I purchased it from my uncle in 2003 (if I remember right) and that same year my brothers brought theirs out from home. All of them needed substantial work to overhaul, tune, and clean.

I also do what auto mechanics work I can with the exception of oil changes, which I find too annoying and routine. Walmart is cheap, quick, and I get shopping done too.
